DC Kathua pay surprise visit to District Hospital

JATINDER KHAJURIA Kathua, Apr 23 In order to ensure proper health care facilities to patients of Kathua district, Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal, alongwith Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Ghanshyam Singh today paid a surprise visit to District Hospital Kathua. The DC alongwith ADC took stock of the medical facilities, availability of doctors, medical staff, attendance and sanitation. They also inspected the emergency ward, inpatient units, OPD, and other places in the hospital. During his visit, DC interacted with many patients and their attendants and enquired about the medical facilities being provided to them. He directed the Hospital administration to take necessary measures for improving the sanitation and patient care services at the hospital. Medical Superintendent, Dr. S K Verma briefed DC on the availability of patient care facilities as well as the availability of Drugs in the Hospital. He assured DC that within a weeks time all the issues related to ECG, Digital X Ray and Ultra Sound machine will be resolved to provide critical care and modern health services to the people coming from far off places. DC enjoined upon the entire medical/ paramedical staff to serve the patients with utmost dedication and sincerity so that patients be made to feel comfortable while receiving treatment and exhorted upon maintaining sanitation and hygiene in and around the Hospital building. He also reiterated that district administration is committed to provide requisite quality health care facilities to the people. Later on, Deputy Commissioner toured various spots in and around Kathua town to have first hand review of traffic congestion, encroachment, parking and sanitation.
