Police urges not to spread rumours on ‘rider hitting minor’ accident case

JATINDER KHAJURIA Kathua, Apr 22 An information received from reliable source about an accident in village Sumwan at around 4:30 pm when a motorbike Platina without registration number being driven by one Abdul Majid S/o Alam Din R/o Mahi Chak on way towards Nagri hit a minor boy namly Harsh S/o Onkar Nath R/o Sumwan Kathua aged 4 years. Due to accident minor child received injuries and motorbike rider Abdul Majid and pillion rider namely Mohd Yusuf S/o Gulam Ali R/o Nagri recieved injuries. With the help locals, injured child Harsh was shifted to District Hospital in a private car of one Jagir Singh. Both Abdul Majid and Mohd Yusuf also went to hospital alongwith the injured child in the same car. Harsh, the injured boy was given medical treatment and was later referred to GMC Jammu. Amidst the treatment of minor boy in hospital, Abdul Majid, the rider of the motorbike also got fainted in the hospital and later died, despite immediate medical attention by the DH Kathua. In this connection FIR no 125/ 2019 u/s 279/337/304A stands registered at Police Station, postmortem of the dead body got conducted by board of doctors in DH Kathua today on 22-04-2019 in the morning to ascertain the cause of death. Necessary videography/Photography of the postmortem process was also done.Some rumour mongers are spreading false news about the incident with intention to further their hidden agenda.Such anti social elements would be strictly dealt under law. Kathua Police requests people not to pay heed to any propaganda/ rumours spread by vested interests and assures fair investigation in the case to unearth the truth.
