Good oral hygiene leads to great physique: Mr India cum Doctor by profession: Dr Gunnit

Q: In your opinion which is more important Food or Oral Health? Dr: If your oral health is good then the food you eat gives you proper nutrients and it’s easy to digest. So, oral health is first and foremost important for a good healthy body. Q: How your journey to bodybuilding started? Dr: I won Mr J&K title in 2007 and after that I was into my career building mode for my medical profession. Then I started my professional training in 2013, and then I won Mr. Jammu title. In 2014 I was Mr. Chandigarh and Mr J&K and in 2017 I won Mr. India Title which was held in Goa. This has been my bodybuilding journey so far. Q: What about your journey to as a Dentist? Dr: In the year 1999 I joined BDS and passed out in 2004- 2005. I was working as a senior Resident in Guru Govind Hospital, Rajori Garden, Delhi. I also had been a Sr. Lecturer in Bharti Dental College. Q: What’s your idea on fitness mantra? Dr: Today people have become fitness freak. I follow a very strict diet plan for six days and on Sundays I take cheat meals. We have to take Fats, Protein, and Carbohydrates in a good proportion to be fit. If our meal carries 50% protein 30% Carbohydrates and 20% Fats, we will be very healthy also we have to take vitamins and minerals from food and salads. Q: When you took your fitness so seriously? Dr: When I was giving my board examination of 10th class, a Gym was newly open nearby my place and I joined it and from that onwards started my fittness life. Q: What are your tips to the medical student who wants to be fit? Dr: If you work out for 4 days in a week is good enough to be fit. All it takes is 30- 35 minutes per day. It is not that for fitness you have to go to the gym and hit heavyweights. You also can do morning walk, yoga, homemade exercise also helps you to be fit. Q: What cultural activities were you indulged in during your college, school days? Dr: On the stage my presence most of the time was like a bodybuilder. I used to organize all the cultural activities. Q: What is your message to the public as a Dentist? DR: Once a while we all want to explore our taste buds, six days following strict diet plan and one day you can have your cheat meals. ‘An Apple a day keeps a Dentist away’. Also, Brush your teeth twice a day. At our young ages, we all have affinity toward chocolates and sweets. Don’t take too much stress for kids, but make sure your child brushes twice a day. Overeating is very harmful because of it your child become obese, it’s your fault. NOTE: Stay Fit, Stay Healthy, Eat Healthy.
