CRPF launches cleanliness drive on Valour Day in Banganga

HIMANSHU SHARMA Katra, Apr 9 06 Btn CRPF, Katra celebrated Valour day or Shaurya Divas by organising a cleanliness driver under Commandant Jitendra Kumar Gupta at pious and historical river with mythological significance 'Banganga' in holy city Katra. A part of the river was cleaned by more than 50 CRPF soldiers as a mark of respect towards 1965 war martyrs on Valour day. Speaking to Young Bites, Comm. Jitendra Kumar Gupta told that the drive was deliberately undertaken to make people understand how much importance such water bodies play in our daily lives and polluting them will lead them to depletion and valuable water to dry. He further said such drives are always a part of CRPF as we only strive to work hard to make the lives of our citizens easier and their environment safe and secure. He emphasised that such drives should be everybody's responsibility because if we know to spread garbage, then we should know to clean our mess as well. 06 Btn CRPF of Katra is always ready to help common people in social causes in and around Katra. Present at the site were 2nd in Command Sh. Sandeep, Company Commander Sh. Devinder Kumar along with other soldiers of the batallion
