JKBOSE to utilize Govt schools for establishing examination centres

SUBODH BHASIN Jammu, Feb 17 As the days are running short to start of annual Class 10th, 11th and 12th Board Exams in Jammu province, the JKBOSE has geared up to acquire the details regarding the availability of exams centres. The J&K State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has started getting feedback from the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of all districts of the region for setting up exam centres. It is worthwhile to mention here that, the Class X and XII exams are scheduled to be held from February 27 and February 23, respectively. The annual exams of Class XI will commence from March 7. The get the details about the availability of exams centres Sources various teams have been framed by the JKBOSE with officials of different wings to get necessary feedback from the CEOs regarding the infrastructure available in the schools to set up the exam centres. The move is aimed to as the BOSE authorities are not ready to take any risk to set up examination centres in private schools for Class XI due to chances of copying, which had been the case in the past during the home examination system. In this regard to conduct the exams in fair manner and to restrict the practices of unfair means, BOSE teams discussed with the CEOs facilities such as the availability of staff, desks and space in the classrooms in government schools. The sources further said one of the main reasons behind the initiative was the requirement of additional government schools to conduct Class XI examination by BOSE for the first time this year.
The government schools in Udhampur, Samba, Kathua, Doda and Reasi districts have already been inspected. The final list of the examination centres is likely to be finalized within few days.
Earlier, there were speculations that the examination centres might be set up in private schools due to Class XI examination but now the as the JKBOSE has initiated the steps it is cleared that exams will be conducted in Government schools.
