5 Drug peddlers arrested with 15 kg of Poppy Straw

The Jammu and Kashmir police Tuesday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler in Manasbal Safapora area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district and recovered 15 kilograms of Poppy Straw from his possession.
In a statement issued here a police spokesperson said that acting on a specific tip-off, a police party headed by SHO P/S Safapora arrested five drug peddlers along with their Santro vehicle car bearing Reg. No. HRO9P 9454 at Manasbal Safapora crossing on 12/ 02/2019. During the search, 15 kg of poppy straw in a gunny-bag recovered from their possession.
The accused namely, Zubair Manzoor shah s/o Manzoor Ahmad Shah, Shahid Manzoor Manto s/o Manzoor Ahmad Manto. Bashatat Ahmad Das s/o Mohammad Rafiq Das R/o's Waghama Bejibhera, Shabir Ahmad Hajam s/o Ab Rashid Hajam and Arif Ahmad Shelkh s/o Ab Ahad Shenkh R/o's Kurhama Ganderbal along with the santro car were taken Into the Police custody after lodging the FIR No. 02 of 2019 U/S 8/15, 29 NDPS Act 120 B RPC at Police Station Safapora.
Further Investigation is going on and the case will be challaned before the court on Its merits.
SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS strongly advised the parents to take care of their children and desist them before they get Involved in such activities.
People of the area highly appreciated this move of police and requested to continue it till its end.
