The slow pace of work on MA Stadium Jammu which is being up-graded up to the status of international cricket ground by March 2019 under Prime Minister’s Development Project (PMDP) as the authorities’ claim of getting renovated within the stipulated time seems to be falling flat as around 50 per cent of the work is pending.
The work on main pavilion building is yet to be finished whereas other works including preparation of the outfield with basic facilities like drainage, leveling, floodlights, turf and installation of chairs on stands too are going on at a snail’s pace.
The outer work is also pending and some small works haven’t even been started.
Rahul Jojra a cricket lover talking with Young Bites correspondent said that said that as MA Cricket Stadium is being up-graded up to the status of international cricket ground, the people particularly youth and kids are very much hopeful as it will open lot of opportunities for the existing and emerging cricket talent in the state.
He categorically stated that at present the work is being executed at snail’s pace, whereas there are such areas where work is yet to be initiated. He further added that authorities need to speed the ongoing work.

This project envisages up-gradation of the stadium up to the status of international cricket ground. The project is supposed to be completed by April.
Although, the authorities are hopeful to get it completed by April but a building behind the pavilion, may take a lot of time as it wouldn’t be possible to complete the work earlier than this.
