The slow pace of work on MA Stadium Jammu which is being up-graded up to the status of international cricket ground by March 2019 under Prime Minister’s Development Project (PMDP) as the authorities’ claim of getting renovated within the stipulated time seems to be falling flat as around 50 per cent of the work is pending.
The work on main pavilion building is yet to be finished whereas other works including preparation of the outfield with basic facilities like drainage, leveling, floodlights, turf and installation of chairs on stands too are going on at a snail’s pace.
The outer work is also pending and some small works haven’t even been started.
Rahul Jojra a cricket lover talking with Young Bites correspondent said that said that as MA Cricket Stadium is being up-graded up to the status of international cricket ground, the people particularly youth and kids are very much hopeful as it will open lot of opportunities for the existing and emerging cricket talent in the state.
