Exam anxiety is experienced by many students and may include excessive worry about upcoming exams fear of being evaluated apprehension about the consequences.
Having parents as well as someone from counselling helpline to talk to about their work can help students a lot. Support from a parent, tutor or study buddy can help young people share their worries and keep things in perspective.
Recently throngs of students were addressed by PM Narendra Modi and tips were given to take exams in a relaxed atmosphere and not come under stress to ensure better results in the long run with a message theme “Pariksha Pe Charcha as Prime Minister is keen on sharing valuable tips with the students and ensure that they take exams in a relaxed atmosphere.
Now in the State of Jammu and Kashmir the students of government schools will be benefitted with counseling helpline, where they will be guided to handle the stress in exams
The counseling helpline established by the Directorate of School Education, Jammu will address the stress-related issues of students of government schools.
The move said to be taken after the authorities came across with several reports of stress being faced by the students during examination days, affecting them physically, mentally, academically and personally. In order to encourage and facilitate students to seek help in a confidential and trustworthy manner, a counselling helpline 6006800068 and emailcousellingcelldsej@gmail.com had been constituted.
The counselling helpline will address grievances related to various levels of anxiety, emotional well-being, examination anxiety, low mood, stress, phobia and behavioural changes. Not only the counseling helpline will address the mental stress but also provide better guidance regarding child abuse
The students can avail the facility by calling at the counselling helpline number 6006800068 from 10 am to 4:30 pm to seek telephonic guidance or book an appointment for personal counselling.
Not only the students but teachers, parents and school administrators can also take the services of the helpline to give feedback, report behavioural aberrations in students, cyber addiction, seek help for children with specific needs and report self-harm.
