Subway, a paradise for drunkards, drug addicts

The subway in Digiana has become a place to enjoy for the drunkards and drug addicts. The whole path of Subway is filled with bottles of alcohol, injections and other materials being use by drug addicts. It also serves as a public toilet for those who stay inside the subway whole night after consuming drugs. The whole subway stinks so badly that a normal person cannot go inside, forget to use it as thorough fare to cross the road.
One of the local living in Digiana said, “I think that this subway is made for drug addicts. They consume drugs and later use it as public toilet. The people who come here for morning walk cannot bear the stinking smell. No sweeper comes here to clean it from inside. It has been constructed two years back, but till date no one has come here for its official inauguration. There is a Gurudwara just opposite to the subway, the drug addicts keep lying outside the subway and the Sangat feels bad to see all this. No Police cop has ever come here to investigate”.
Another resident of Digiana, Manga said, “The Subway was meant for people to cross buzy road. But at night all the beggars come here, consume drugs, sleep inside and after consuming drugs spoil the whole area. Gurudwars is just near to it, but the whole place stinks badly. I appeal the govt that there should be a gate which should be closed at night so that no one can enter the subway during night”.
Manjeet Singh, another local said, “ It was meant for old people to cross the buzy road, but no one likes to pass from this place. There should be police cops to keep a check on this. This is home for drug addicts”.
When crore of rupees have been spent on the construction of Subway, it should serve to give comfort to public. The authorities should keep a check on its cleanliness and should see that it be not misused.
