ASI, two traffic cops injured

Attack took place near National Conference
headquarters and office of All India Radio

Grenade was lobbed by militants on the Police party near Zero Bridge in the Rajbagh area of Srinagar city on Thursday afternoon. One Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police and two traffic cops were injured in the grenade blast.
In the blast, the three police personnel sustained splinter injuries and were immediately rushed to SMHS hospital for treatment. The injured has been identified as Iqbal Singh (ASI of JKAP 14 Bn) and traffic policemen Haris Manzoor (SPO) and Sanullah (Head Constable).
While ASI Iqbal has sustained splinter injuries on both of his legs, Haris suffered injury to back side of his neck and Sanullah suffered injuries in his right leg.
SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parray confirmed the attack and subsequent injuries to the ASI and two traffic cops. Soon after the attack, the forces cordoned off the area and launched a hunt to nab the attackers.
Pertinent to mention that the attack took place less than 100 metres from the National Conference headquarters and the local office of the All India Radio.
