Jammu is soon going to have a stadium which is will host international level matches. While interacting with Dr. Naseem Choudhary, Secretary, Sports Council, said, “Earlier MA Stadium only conducted small district level tournaments. Our players were lacking exposure as there were no matches played on international level in our state. But this stadium will have a very good infrastructure of international standard. The work is being done at a very good pace. The work started in the month of April 2018 and hopefully it will be completed in the March month of next year”.
The stadium is being renovated as per BCCI Guidelines. It will have a pavilion, the sitting capacity will be increased. Other than this public toilet, food plaza, flood lights, drainage system, practice pitch etc are being built as per international standards. After the stadium is renovated, it will be ready to host big events on national and international level.
There is lot of potential in the players of J&K. But due to lack of infrastructure, our players do not do much at national level and international level. But with the completion of the stadium, players of national and international level will come to Jammu, and that will give boost to our players also. Very soon the stadium will host IPL matches, test matches. National and international level players will visit our state and our players will be able to learn new skills from them.
