Message from Parveen Akhtar for people: Prents should not pressurize children, let them choose their favourite fields themselves.
Parveen did her schooling from Poonch Surankote. In the year 1985 she completed her graduation from Degree College Poonch. She is double postgraduate and did her MA and MSC in Sociology and Chemistry. Chemistry was her favourite subject.
Her aim was teaching right from very beginning. Her father was in education line and she got inspiration to be in this field from her father. She says that in those days the female education was very low, very few females used to be educated. That was the main reason for her to join the education field, so that she could educate the people of state.
She says, " today the competition is very tough. Parents should teach their children to set goals at early stage. There is a lot of competition especially for the students of science stream. If there is there are 100 posts for a particular job then lakh of students applies for those jobs, as a result the students get disheartened and they do not get the jobs which they dream of".
On women empowerment, she feels that today's women is quite empowered, she is in every field, be it politics, police, education etc., But still there is lot more to be done to empower women.
