Parshuram Awards and Sher-e-Kashmir awards are meant for the people who have done exceptional works in their respective field.
This year on Jan 26, then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had declared the names of awardees for the coaches and players of J&K. 10 months have passed but still the candidates whose names were nominated have not received their awards. Parshuram Awards are given to prominent coaches of J&K while Sher-e-kashmir Awards are given to prominent players of J&K.
Some of the coaches nominated for the awards were Suraj Bhan Singh Judo coach, Anil Washers Boxing coach, SP Singh Gymnastics coach, Chotu Lal Fencing coach, Ambedkar Gupta Karate coach, Kuldeep Handoo Wushu coach and many others. JK Sports Council should stream line the process of awarding the deserving, as these awards boost the morale and encourage them to do better.
