Committed to promote Dogri language, culture: Chanchal Bhasin

This time the woman we are talking about is Chanchal Bhasin, Lecturer Dogri. Talking with YoungBites, she narrated her story and the challenges which she faced in her life, and also enlightened the Importance of Girl Child in our Society.
In the interactive session that followed, Chanchal Bhasin said that my commitment is to promote of Dogri language and Dogra culture and heritage on the very best way. She said all languages are equally important and should be equally encouraged.
She called upon public to use Dogri language in their day to day life and also to ensure the communication in Dogri language with new generations. Unless public itself promote the language , which has been added in eighth schedule after lot of struggle, mere Government efforts will not enough to ensure place to Dogri which it deserves .
She also called upon Dogri writers and poets to make contributions for promotion of Dogri.
She said that these days Dogri language is not being patronized by young generations which are really worrisome. The young generation should be proud of its language , heritage, culture , cuisine and way of life .
Chanchala said, “there is an urgent need to change this archaic mindset of the patriarchal Indian society which views girls as liabilities. It needs to be established that girls are in no way less than boys. When given the right chances to nurture their talent and skills, they have it in them to excel in different areas of life. It is therefore imperative that both government and non-government organizations work in cohesion to spread the message of saving and educating the girl child.”
“In order to achieve true women empowerment, it is important that we begin with the girl children. This is because girls of today are the women of tomorrow. The role of social welfare organizations is critical here as it is not possible for the government to reach every nook and corner of the country. As the aware citizens, we can support organizations which work for the eradication of female infanticide and women empowerment,” she added.
