Mohd Sarber files nomination as Independent candidate

Hundreds of supporters from ward no. 19 accompanied Mohd Sarber (Lali) who today filed nomination from ward 19 at Udhampur as Independent candidate for urban body elections. The election is scheduled to be held on Oct.10.
After filing nomination, Mohd Sarber promised to work for the welfare of ward 19 as well as entire Municipality. He divulged his vision to provide Eco-friendly environment, Lanes & Drainage system, sufficient Power/PHE supply, street lights and all other requirements of the ward. He urged people to support youth candidate as Youths are the backbone of the society; he added and appealed to boycott traditional politicians who plunge into the election for name & fame than to work for the society.
The state election department on Thursday issued a notification for the second phase of the four-phased urban local body poll in Jammu and Kashmir. In the second phase, 384 municipal wards, including 166 in the Kashmir division and 218 in Jammu division, will go to the polls on October 10. According to notification, the last date for filing is sept 27. The scrutiny of nominations will be done on Sept.28. The last date for the withdrawal of candidature is October 1.
