World Water Monitoring Day was established in 2003 by America's Clean Water Foundation (ACWF) as a global educational outreach program. The program, subsequently named the "World Water Monitoring Challenge" and "EarthEcho Water Challenge," aims to build public awareness and involvement in protecting water resources around the world by empowering citizens to carry out basic monitoring of their local water bodies. Water Monitoring Day was founded to encourage and educate people on how to monitor the elements of the water in their local area. Water pollution is a severe problem, and learning how to recognize, take care of, and prevent it is more famous with every passing year.
Surveillance technologies now available – including the monitoring of virtually all digital information – have advanced to the point where much of the essential apparatus of a police state is already in place – Al Gore.
Information on purchasing low-cost test kits is available from the current sponsoring organization, EarthEcho International, and the results of monitoring events are then shared with participating communities around the globe on the sponsor's.
The history of Water Monitoring Day was designed by America’s Clean Water Foundation in 2003 with the intent of being a program that transferred out to people all over the globe to raise knowledge of water pollution issues and get somebody to test their local bodies of water. Take a look at the water getting out of your tap, for most of us, and this means we see the water from a municipal water source that is monitored and treated against pollution and disease by government authorities. But how clean and safe is it? While most of us think our tap water to be safe, there are circumstances that reveal that we can’t always trust even our city water to be completely safe for us to drink.
If you have a well, then you’re in a position that’s both better and worse. Wells are primarily subject to the changes in the environment and the things that get into our soil and groundwater. While they often draw from a much shorter reservoir and thus aren’t as easily affected by issues that may have an impact on an entire community, they should be observed more often just to be sure your water is clear and secure. The Day Water Monitoring Day is a suggestion that it’s time to check your water. Testing kits are prepared from a lot of resources, covering local hardware stores. If you survive in the city, you can usually get your water checked free of charge by requesting your water company. Be confident to ask them for the results so you can report them to the many water reporting sites exist. This way your full community can get involved in making sure everyone has access to clean, fresh water. This day brings a most unique and compelling personal interest in educating the public about environmental and conservation issues. Mass participation of youth attending the event will have the opportunity to learn more about their water resources and join the millions of volunteers who have contributed water quality data to the EarthEcho Water Challenge global database. The EarthEcho Water Challenge provides an opportunity for people of all ages but especially youth to connect with water resources in their community by taking the first step towards action. We want to invite youth and families from across the globe who have already made water quality in their communities’ a top priority through the EarthEcho Water Challenge.”This day provides education and outreach program that builds public awareness and involvement in protecting water resources around the world by engaging citizens to conduct basic monitoring of their local water bodies and also raises public awareness of the issues of pollution of water bodies. It also facilitates participation in the parts of the world, where temperatures reach freezing point at that time. This day is observed in many countries around the world. It's traditional event is taking water sampling in the water bodies of the participating countries. Children, students and adults use a simple kit enabling them to set water quality parameters and share them through the website of World Water Monitoring Day. Sharing this information brings attention to the importance of water quality. World Water Monitoring Day was created to encourage testing of local water resources and thereby promote public awareness and involvement in and protecting these resources. It hopes to highlight the impact of human behaviour on the quality of water resources and empower people to carry out basic monitoring of local water bodies themselves. With water pollution and the problems it raises being more prevalent, the goal of encouraging people to take an active role in the testing of local water is increasingly urgently. EarthEcho International, a non-profit organization established is inspiring young people to identify and tackle environmental challenges in their own communities. One way EarthEcho is doing this is by encouraging young people to test their local water. For World Water Monitoring Day, EarthEcho is providing water test kits to non-profit student and youth groups around the world. The kits can also be purchased on-line directly from EarthEcho for a nominal fee. These participating young people take a sample from a local water source, test this water for pH, temperature, Dissolved Oxygen and Turbidity with the kits provided and then upload the results to the EarthEcho website. It could be a creek, river, lake, wetland or even your own well or tap! Whether anything has been done to treat this water. If everyone participates in this day, a clearer understanding and appreciation of the natural world around would be the result and that would benefit all.
