Illegal constructions continue to galore in Udhampur in connivance with MC officials

Taking a swift action against the illegal constructions, which is going on since a long under the nose of Municipal corporation officials (UMC), the DC Udhampur Ravinder Kumar today visited the spot and seized the entire material meant for the construction of illegal structures along side of the National Highway.
Pertinent to mention here that despite numerous complaints against the illegal constructions in the Udhampur town, no action has been taken by the officials of Udhampur Municipal Corporation, who continue to remain napped over these complaints and failed to take any action against the violators.
When brought in to the notice of DC Udhampur , such an illegal construction work at National highway under municipal limit was stopped by Municipal authorities of Udhampur and construction material was also seized.
This has raised questions on the working of Udhampur Municipality as for the last two months the construction reached up to the third floor and what makes up DC Udhampur to walk on to the spot to look up into the matter?
This might for the first time, that the DC, Ravinder Kumar, who was on holiday today, has to visit personally on the spot to act against the habitual violators and was also supported by some officials of UMC. To access the situation, DC Udhampur raided the spot and sized the entire material meant for the construction of this illegal structure.
Though, the CEO Municipally, never bothered to take any action against these complaints even he never asked the officials to visit the spot and stop the illegal construction. But he only used to harass the poor and small vendors or people who used to make some repairs at their houses, such big fishes were always spared by such officials, which make a bad name to the UMC.
People further claimed that without paying money as illegal graft no work is done by these concerned officials in the UMC.
“Influential people get their works done easily while a common man is repeatedly asked to visit offices,” said Sham lal a retired master.
It is pertinent to mention here that some cases of illegal construction in Udhampur town are facing litigations in the court of law.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Udhampur Ravinder Kumar said that an enquiry has been initiated in the matter and strict action will be taken against the people as well as the officials, who will be involved in such illegal construction in the town.
