The state government’s claims to reform the education sector has fallen flat as school students (both government and private) continue to take private tuition after their school hours.
The failure of the schools to clear the basic concepts of students has lead to mushrooming of private coaching centres in the winter capital in the last few years. The private tuition centres are taking the full advantage of the schools’ shortcomings and are charging exorbitant fee by assuring individual attention to the students. Govt must constitute expert committee to find out the reasons behind the failure of the school education system and reliance on private coaching centres.
“Private schools have no fixed criteria for selection of teachers. They select teachers as per their convenience, without knowing whether the teacher will be able to address the students’ issues in an effective the present system of education was not enough to make students self-reliant and their dependence on private tuition was proving fatal.
“The present school education system has nothing to do with the overall personality development of a student because it lacks life-oriented approach. There was a time when the students used to take private tuition in higher classes or while preparing for competitive exams but now even students of primary and middle classes are taking tuition which is a cause for great concern.
The private coaching centres are grabbing this opportunity to fleece parents which spend their hard earned money to make future of their wards.Govt should tighten noose on private coaching centres to have a check on mushrooming of coaching centres.
Education has become so expensive that it’s beyond the reach of common man. There is dire need to chalk out a strategy by the govt so that education should be within the reach of every individual irrespective of rich or poor to brighten the future of their wards.
