Happiness Curriculum programme launched by Delhi govt for its school students

Keeping in view the constant mental and physical stress of studies on the young generation Delhi government has taken up an initiative to launch Happy Curriculum programme to get the younger generation relieved from constant stress of studies and to avoid them to take extreme steps in certain cases .
The Delhi government launched ‘Happiness Curriculum’ which includes meditation, moral values and mental exercises for its school students. It was launched by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the presence of the Dalai Lama. The Happiness Curriculum focuses on holistic education by including meditation, value education, and mental exercises in conventional education curriculum. It was designed and prepared by a team of 40 Delhi government teachers, educators and volunteers over period of six months. It involves ‘Happiness’ period of 45 minutes for all students studying in nursery up to class VIII at all Delhi government schools. Each class will begin with five minute meditation practice. The curriculum focuses on meditation, moral teachings, and mental exercises, with the aim of turning students into good human being and make them physically and mentally fit for their future career.
