Traffic department tighten its noose around the defaulters

Working under the guidance of the senior and dynamic police officer IG Basant Rath, the traffic department finally has tightens its noose around the habitual traffic defaulters. Taking a swift action the traffic department Jammu Rural has booked 22009 Vehicles during special drive launched in May-2018 against the traffic violators in Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch districts.
“After getting the instructions from our senior officers, the action has been taken during which a large number of private (LMVs) and commercial vehicles including buses, matadors, bikes and other vehicles were challaned and seized under the violations like use of Tinted glasses, without documents, alteration in seating capacity by passenger vehicles, overloading etc,” said a top traffic cop.
Talking to the young bites, he said that the Traffic Team booked 22009 Vehicles, of which 1058 violators were booked for overloading, 4535 for not wearing of crash helmets, 4059 for not fastening seat belts, 1432 for driving vehicle dangerously / over speeding besides, 377 use of pressure horn and 1739 for not having the driving licenses. Continuing our strict action against the defaulters, the team constituted under the senior police officers of our department has also seized 660 vehicles.
“This action will continue for more days, as still the people are unaware and even never bothered to follow the traffic norms. Such type of action is for their safety, we are here for them and it is also their duty to take some safety measures so that they as well as the others can have a safe and smooth driving on the roads, he added.
The top cop further urged upon the people to follow traffic norms and enjoy accidental -free driving.
