In the interactive session that followed, Arjun Sharma said, “ In 2007, I joined Hindu Shive Sena (J&K) and steps forward for serving our country, and the process of serving people is continue.”
He further said that we have come together to launch a 24-hour helpline, which help elderly persons tackle their legal, medical and financial problems. The helpline, which already provides assistance to women and ambulance services, now extended their services to elderly citizens as well “Often, senior citizens don’t know whom to approach when they have a problem. Now, by dialing landline number or their cellphone, they can avail of a directory of NGOs who can help them on a variety of issues,” said Arjun Sharma,.
Coming on CBI inquiry in Kathua case, Arjun Sharma said, “Although everybody is in the favour of giving exemplary punishment to the accused involved in the gruesome incident, people say there is no harm in giving the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to stop further communal divide.”
“We want justice for the victim. Politicisation of the case has given an opportunity to radical and communal elements across the state to further divide the society and create a turmoil-like situation in Jammu and in Kashmir. If the Crime Branch has done its investigation properly, the CBI probe would also reveal the same. It will end the debate,” said Gen Secretary Hindu Shive Sena.
People say that for centuries, Dogra Hindus, Muslims and Gujjar and Bakerwal communities have lived in complete harmony in the Jammu region and even provocations by terrorists after the eruption of insurgency in Kashmir has not shaken this bond and there is a need to resist the attempts to divide the society.
