The State of Jammu and Kashmir continues to struggle with providing basic medical care for its citizens as government failed to provide adequate doctors. At a time providing better health care at the door steps with state of the infrastructure is need of time for transforming health care through, non availability of doctors put question mark about the seriousness of the health facilities.
With thousands of patients lacking adequate healthcare, extended life spans and treatable diseases are straining our already burdened system and scarcity of doctors in various health centers have added to the problem.
Talking to Young Bites correspondent Sanjeev Sharma said that already, there isn’t enough provider capacity in the health system to meet the expected patient demand in the present situation and will worse in the future, and government should increase the number of doctors which is an effective long-term solution to the problem.
He further added that people from hilly areas particularly rural areas have to run from pillar to post for want of health care as they are facing shortage of doctors Either they have to pay huge price for non-in private clinics or they have to get medical facilities in Jammu or nearby state.
A primary cause of weak health care facility is non availability of doctors which results into no access to healthcare especially in rural locations. The cost of care is also keeping citizens from getting proper treatment, or any treatment at all. Rising private healthcare costs and a lack of quality, affordable alternatives are forcing high out-of-pocket expenses that exacerbate the problem People demand that Government should take effective and early steps to meet the demand of patient doctor gap and as such those who have been selected must posted at the earliest.
