DDC Kupwara inspects offices, educational institutions in Lolab

The District Development Commissioner, Kupwara Khalid Jahangir conducted an extensive tour of Lolab area to take stock of the functioning of various Government Offices/Institutions.

During the visit, the DDC inspected number of institutions and Offices which include, NTPHC Chairkoot, GMS Wavoora, BMS Wavoora, GBMS Gangbugh, GGHSS Sogam, BHSS Sogam, Block Veterinary Office Sogam, Animal Husbandry Office Sogam, BDO Office Sogam, Tehsil Office Sogam, SDAO Sogam, HDO Sogam, PHE SD Sogam and Government Degree College Sogam.

He was accompanied by SDM Lolab and Tehsildar Sogam during the tour. A number of Government officials have been placed under suspension for unauthorized absence.

The DDC Kupwara while inspecting various Government offices/institutions enjoined upon all the officials to maintain punctuality and regularity in discharge of their duties so as to make available timely and quality delivery of services to general public.

It was particularly impressed upon the Principals and Headmasters to ensure presence of teaching staff in the educational institutions . CEO Kupwara was asked to complete the process of recruiting teaching staff on ‘Academic Arrangement’ without any further delay so that academic activities do not suffer.

The Principals and Headmasters were also called upon to prepare a calendar of activities for academics and extra-curricular activities including debates, quiz competitions, seminars, painting competitions, cultural programmes, for the academic year. It was particularly emphasized to give adequate attention to ‘Learning Outcomes’ so that students are enabled to imbibe knowledge and teachings imparted to them.

The functionaries of Department of Sheep Husbandry Department were directed to promote good practices, backyard poultry, dairying, Sheep farming, etc. in their respective areas.

The Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Sogam to take up outreach activities by ensuring presence of functionaries in the field to render extension services and disseminate good practices amongst farmers. He was asked to lay stress on promotion of organic farming, vegetable production and fodder development in addition to preparation of roaster for carrying out outreach activities.

The Horticulture functionaries were directed to organize public awareness programmes in the area regarding the plantation of high density of orchards on scientific lines.
