Lal Singh conducts extensive tour of Basohli constituency Holds series of public grievances redressal meet

Minister for Forests, Environment and Ecology, Ch. Lal Singh today conducted an extensive tour of Basohli and took stock of development needs and public issues during strings of public grievances redressal meetings held in remote areas of the constituency.

The Forest Minister during his whirlwind tour visited several areas included Jandrota, Sialag, Nagali, Jindarali, Plach, Bagh, Ghodal, Garlu, Badi Ghat, Trora and gave a patient hearing to the problems and demands put forth by the local residents.

While addressing a public meeting at Godhal, Ch. Lal Singh said that government has launched a massive programme of development in all the three regions of the state to provide basic needs of the people and also fulfilling the aspirations of the masses. “Implementation of flagship programmes launched by the government has yielded good results across the State”, he added.

The present coalition government has set into motion an era of development; the Minister said, adding that the development projects have been being taken for socio-economic transformation in the State. He said every possible resource is being mobilized and pooled to provide basic facilities to the people with special focus on equitable opportunities of development to backward areas and uniform justice to poor.

“Government is abreast with the problems of the people and no stone will be left unturned to redress their grievances”, the Minister maintained.

Stressing on collective efforts to ensure a healthy and clean environment, Ch. Lal Singh said government is providing funds to construct individual household toilets under Swachh Bharat Mission and public must also contribute their part to the mission by taking all due measures to maintain cleanliness in and around their houses and shun open defecation which is call for various diseases.

The Minister reaffirmed that being the local representative, equal development of all the areas was his priority and no injustice would be done to any area of the Constituency in the developmental front.

Ch. Lal Singh assured the locals that all their genuine developmental needs would be carried out in a phased manner. The Minister impressed upon the concerned officers to adopt a pragmatic approach to meet the aspirations of the public and directed them to redress the genuine issues of the locals at the earliest.

Taking stock of the developmental needs of the localities, Ch. Lal Singh directed XEN, PWD to speed up the road work on Ghodal and ensure provision of proper lanes while blacktopping Nagali road. He further directed XEN, PHE to make a DPR of water supply scheme to cater drinking water needs of Dhar Dugnoo and adjoining areas as the area have an adequate natural water sources. Directions were also passed to XEN, PDD to replace electricity transformer in Dharota.

The Minister was accompanied by Director, Social Forestry, Ashwani Gupta, Director Soil Conservation Javed Iqbal Panjoo, Chairman PCB V. Sidharth, Joint Director, Pawan Kumar Kidiyar, ADC Billawar, Sanjay Gupta besides senior officers of the concerned departments.
