Dr Sunanda Raina who serves as Principal/Dean Govt Medical College, has done both MBBS and MD from GMC, Jammu. She feels blessed by god to be working in the same place from where she got educated. She initially worked as demonstrator and later as lecturer after completing her MD.
She lost her father at a very young age so her maternal grand father has supported her for her education. After her marriage her husband and in laws have been her strong support to fulfill her dreams. Most of her studies she did after her marriage and she thinks that if in laws are not supportive, then no lady can fulfill her dreams. She never says that she is a self made woman, her husband, family, in laws have been her support. She not only is thankful to her family but also her helpers who have helped her in domestic chores.
She thinks that the women can work better as they have better vision and every person has a potential. Every one should prove their potential, both man and woman. She never supports the notion of the society that parents search for grooms and if they get a better groom, they force their girls to get married with him inspite of small age of girls.
She thinks that a house is always vibrant with a daughter. Daughters are very caring not only for family but for society also. Daughters and daughter in laws should be treated similarly. On the age old dowry system, she thinks that it is a curse to the society. It is more or less begging. She strongly opposes the dowry system.
