Vehicular movement suspended amidst snowfall

Traffic along 265 km highway from Udhampur to Srinagar remained suspended on Monday following heavy rainfall and snowfall at Jawahar.
Thousands of vehicles remained stranded due to which normal life got disrupted. According to the traffic police officials, the traffic has been suspended to make sure that no untoward incident takes place. Only private and local vehicles were allowed to move till Chenani.
Ejaz Ahmad one of the truck drivers standed on the highway said,” Jammu-Srinagar national highway is the only road link between the state and the nation, the blocking of national highway for hours disturbs the normal life, thousands of vehicles were not allow to move which causes many problems to the common man.
Hundreds of passengers were stuck in jam. The main problem is that the fresh consumable items get rotten which gives massive loss to the poor”.
The tourists who have come from other parts of the country are enjoying the snowfall and cold weather of the state.
