Although the state government has initiated the process of streamlining the education system and taking into consideration has tightened the noose on private schools lacks basic criteria there are about 284 schools running without recognition. Out of these 284 school who have failed to meet the requirement and quality standard prescribed under rules.
As the issue was raised by MLA Ranbir Singh Pathania asking the details of private schools running in violation of SRO-123 in Jammu, the Minister In charge replied that , the State Government has fixed criteria for permission/affiliation recognition of private schools in the state vide virtue of Govt order No 385 of 2016, dated 5.10.2016. Yet several schools are running without the norms necessary for running the schools. Giving details minister In charge replied that there are 284 schools running without proper infrastructure, besides failing to full fill the required norms running in the state.
Its ironical some of the schools have applied for extension of permission in terms of order and their NOC is pending they are still running, the reasons merely the notices have been issued to fill the required norms.
A per the government order the existing schools have been served that do not have essential certificates (Fire Building Safety and Lab Chemical facility failing to produce requisite safety certificate, such schools will be closed down.
All such schools also required to obtain NOC from Jammu Municipal Corporation. In order to ensure safety /security of school going children. The government had issued order elaborate instructions vide circular No 11-Edu of 2017, dated 27.12.2017 impressing upon all heads of institutions as well as private institution to strictly follow norms laid down by the government.
It’s very strange that even if these school does not fulfill the norms and standards specified, the government has put a blind eye after serving the notices, as such these schools are running their academic session every year order to ensure the security and safety of the children and to boost the education, it is mandator4y that the department of school education take necessary steps so that these schools fill the criteria before the start of fresh academic session
