Mohammed Akbar Lone had several questions to ask but none were convincing!

His first poser is usually the one that stuns everyone. He is an outspoken man who will come out with facts that are truthful to the girth and strangle it. He was out to get answers from the Government for his questions which indeed were genuine as regards NRHM (those who do not know it is all about National Rural Health Mission).
Well from public point of view the idea was great but the results satisfactorily poor, honestly speaking and this is a general public view!
Mohammed Akbar Lone had just two questions to ask. The first one was that he wanted to know about the doctors appointed under NRHM and the salaries being paid to them and the second one was, whether the Government intends to regularize the services of these doctors and if there is intention on the part of the Government then what is the dead line? And if the intention is not there then what are the reasons?
Well frankly speaking he questions were tricky, but answers had to be given. They went something like this, ‘Under National Health Mission, 873 AYUSH doctors and 17 Dental Surgeons are in position who have been appointed on contractual basis under NHM. The MMBS Doctors under NHM are being paid Rupees 30,000 per month, whereas AYUSH and Dental surgeons are being Rupees 25,000 and 23,000 respectively per month with 5% increment subject to the appraisal of annual performance and approval from the ministry.
The government is doing its best to make NHM a big time show. WE are on the job and we will make it sure that everything becomes a big success. We have all the data and the answers. Money is not a category but what matters is the health of all the people. Performance does matter in today’s world. IF you perform you are bound to do well and in case you do not then doldrums is the next destination for you. The Department is doing a splendid job but what is needed is a cohesive effort. IF everyone works the output will always be good. But if one thinks that the input from the Government is of supreme importance and we just have to go a job then obviously things will not happen in a manner that we want.
Akbar Lone was right on the ball but honestly speaking the replies were not at all convincing!
