Opposition parties on Tuesday created noisy scenes in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to protest against the detention of Kashmiri businessman Bilal Ahmad Kawa by Delhi Police in Red Fort attack case.
Independent MLA Er Rasheed asked the government to come clear on the issue of his arrest.
He also raised questions over his arrest 17 years after the Red Fort attack case.
Lamenting the “silence” of the government, Rasheed said that they will wake up only if “Bilal is hanged like Afzal Guru”.He was joined by National Conference leader and MLA Khanyar Ali Muhammad Sagar who said that the government should inform the House about the action taken in this regard.
On Monday, the family of Bilal Ahmad Kawa staged a protest in Srinagar to seek intervention of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for “immediate” release of their son.
Thanking the Jammu and Kashmir Police for their help, they said that Mehbooba should also push for Kawa’s release. “My son is my sole hope. Since the day of his arrest, I am completely shaken. I request Mehbooba ji to facilitate my son’s release,” appealed Fatima, mother of Kawa.
Meanwhile, reacting sharply against the allegation by the opposition members, BJP MLA Ravinder Raina said that as investigation is going on in the case related to Bomb Blast at Lal Qila (New Delhi), where in several people has been called by the investigating agency and Delhi Police and if some people from J&K state has been called by the Investigating agency or Delhi Police why some political parties are making such a hue and cry over the issue.
“They must have forget that are also elected under the Constitution of India and thus they are enjoying all the benefits given by Govt of India,” he said and added that it is unfortunate that in the State assembly some leaders are favoring the separatists.
“We stand committed by Integrity of India and those political leaders who are favoring the separatists should immediately stop to play the dirty politics.
