Though, the leaders boast about their seriousness to work for the people of the state, but their seriousness could be gauged that despite the lapse of more than three years the government failed to complete the survey of OBC people residing in our state.
Pertinent to mention that as per the government order no. 14-2014 dated 19-6-2014, the revenue department asked the social welfare department to conduct the survey of OBCs people in every district of the state. The order further instructed the Social welfare department to complete the survey in two months time period.
In this regard a committee was constituted under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner of every district in which Additional Deputy Commissioner, District Social welfare Officer and Tehsildar were the members, but still after the lapse of more than three years, none has been done to provide justice to the people of OBC community as till date they are getting just 2 per cent reservation instead of 27 percent in the entire country.
As per the SRO-294 of state government, there are 26 different castes under OBC status but due to the non-completion of survey from past many years, people belong to other reserved categories including ALC and RBA are getting the benefits meant for OBCs people, which is sheer injustice to the people belong to this category.
“This is very unfortunate that despite the passage of more than 3 years, none has been done by the concerned officials, due to whom the thousands of people belonged to OBC community failed to their rights, which is not good sign for healthy democracy,” asserts VC, OBC Board, Rachpal Verma.
Meanwhile, according to the Comm Secy, Social Welfare Department, Sajjad Khan, “The government is committed for equitable development of every community in the state. Due to some reasons, the survey failed to get completed on time.”
“The order to conduct fresh survey has been issued to the concerned officials, we are hopeful that the survey should be conducted soon, so that the people belong to this specific community should get their rights,” he added.
