Zulfkar lays foundation stone for Mosque, Eidgah

Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Tribal Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today said Islam stands for peace, communal harmony and brotherhood.

He said this while speaking in a grand function after laying foundation stone for mosque and Eidgah here at Koteranka.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Minister emphasized that Muslims have been enjoined by God to serve mankind and promote goodness. He added that Islam teaches us that Muslims must always be ready to serve mankind and have love and kindness for all of God’s creation.

The Minister while expressing his overwhelming happiness to see the long pending demand of people getting fulfilled complimented the painstaking efforts of district and sub-divisional administration for making available the land for construction of mosque and eidgah. He asserted upon the management committee to initiate the construction work at the earliest.

While highlighting the importance of mosque and eidgah as socio-religious institutions, he asserted that these institutions promote social solidarity, community cohesion and enhance social relations. He further said that these institutions provide a platform for collective praying and they need to be maintained and looked after.

While offering his Friday prayers at the site for Eidgah, Zulfkar prayed for well-being and prosperity of the state and asked people to make a collective resolve to fight the evil and social ills at all levels.

Also present on the occasion were Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, EXNs Nisar Khan and Munshi Khan, tehsildar Mohammad Rafiq, AD FCS & CAs Javaid Iqbal and BDO Imtiaz Ahmad.
