6818 getting pension under different schemes in Nowshera: Sajjad Lone 154 eligible persons benefited under SMAS

Minister for Social Welfare, Mr. Sajjad Ahmad Lone today informed the House that 6818 persons are getting monthly pension under National Social Assistance Programme (NASP) and Integrated Social Scheme (ISS) in Nowshera constituency.

Replying to a question by Mr. Ravinder Raina, the Minister said that 2953 pension cases under different categories are pending disposal in Nowshera constituency at present. Similarly, 154 beneficiaries have been provided benefits under State Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMAS) in the constituency.

He further informed that the department has initiated steps for undertaking renovation and up-gradation of Bal Ashram Sunderbani.

Meanwhile, he said the department has also initiated steps to improve the functioning of Anganwari Centres in the State, these include constitution of Village Level Councils for ground level monitoring, training of Anganwari Workers in Early Childhood Education (ECE) to ensure holistic development of children, training of Anganwari Workers to enrol children under 6 years of age under Aadhar and transfer of funds through DBT mode.
