For ensuring a ban on the use of army fatigues, District Superintendents of Police of J&K have to strictly implement the ban on the unauthorized sale and use of army uniforms/combat dress in the State. Moreover, anybody found involved in sale, purchase or use of such uniforms/combat dress without proper permission shall be dealt strictly under law.
However, all traders and shopkeepers interested in selling Army uniforms may approach the local military authority and request for shops in units/cantonments approved areas/shops as per rules of law. But it is illegal to sell Army uniforms to unauthorized persons.
Whereas, it is also for the police and Civil administration to have check and do crackdown on defaulters.
The youth should exhorted to use social media to spread awareness and start a campaign to prevent misuse of Army uniform and equipment as fashion statement.
It is the duty of people to extend support in the fight against terrorism, and to take pledge to co-operate with defence forces by providing information and keeping vigil at local level. As these operations are inescapable to ensure our safety and security.
We’re all very proud of the Indian Army. One of the largest volunteer armies in the world, the stories of the valour and sacrifice are unmatched. Whereas there are J&K Police and other military forces in the country that are equally responsible for maintaining the peace and freedom that we all so cherish. While the Army is tasked with fighting the enemy in case of a war, the J&K Police the Paramilitary and Central Police Forces are tasked with various duties like maintaining law and orders, border guarding, airport and industrial security, maintaining peace during internal conflicts
The use of combat uniform by people in Jammu & Kashmir, despite a ban on its sale and purchase by civilians in the state is a shameful act which need stricter imposition of the ban to avoid the misuse of the uniform.
