Development of far-off areas priority of Government: Haji Anayat Chairman conducts extensive tour of Shargole, Bodh Kharboo, adjoining villages

KARGIL, DECEMBER 05: Chairman Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali today said that Government is fully committed for development of the far-flung regions at par with rest of the State in terms of infrastructure development and other developmental activities so that the people of these areas are not left deprived of necessary facilities.
The Chairman stated this during his extensive tour of Shargole, Bodh Kharboo, and adjoining villages here today.
Addressing a series of public meetings in these areas, Haji Anayat Ali said that the present regime under the leadership of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is fully conscious of the problems and difficulties of the people of snowbound areas. He said that Government is keen to eradicate poverty and backwardness, adding that focused attention is being given to unattended areas in this regard.
The Chairman said that priority of the Government is to provide basic amenities to the people besides improving the existing infrastructure in rural and hilly areas while as particular attention is being given to develop education, power, health, and mobile and road connectivity.
He said that the present government is taking a slew of measures to provide satisfactory facilities to the people of Kargil district and a number of road connectivity and other projects under State Share and CRF are going on in full swing. He said to provide facilities of ration to the people at their doorsteps 149 ration stores have been sanctioned in the district. He said that 157 mobile towers have been sanctioned that would go a long way in resolving connectivity problems.
Haji Anayat Ali called upon the public representatives and the local people to work unitedly in realizing the goal of the Government to ensure progress and prosperity of the district.
He assured the people of these areas to allocate funds out of his CDF for the purchase of generator and kitchen sets, strengthening of women SHGs, and provision of solar home lights besides carrying out other developmental activities in the area.
He exhorted upon the officers that benefits of various development and welfare schemes should reach to the real beneficiaries in the best possible manner. He emphasized on regular monitoring of the development works besides the use of quality material. He said no stone would be left unturned in redressing genuine grievances of the people.
Meanwhile, the locals apprised the Chairman about their grievances and demands mainly concerning the construction of link roads, irrigation khuls and bridges, installation of mobile towers and electric poles, restoration and repairing of water supply pipelines, up gradation of health centers and schools, improvement and blacktopping of roads, repair of irrigation khuls, establishment of weaving and tailoring centers for the women folk, construction of crate bunds, better medicare, etc.
The Chairman assured the people that all their genuine demands would be addressed at the earliest. He also assured the people for keeping funds out of his CDF for construction of a guest house at Mundik for visiting Buddhist spiritual gurus and high lamas. He also issued on spot instructions to the concerned for early disposal of the issues brought up during the public meetings.
