Quality, moral education must for holistic development: Lal Singh

JAMMU, DECEMBER 03- Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment, Choudhary Lal Singh has asked the teaching fraternity to imbibe quality as well as moral education to the students, adding that teachers are the architects who shape the personality of students in making them nation builders.
Addressing a gathering at the annual day function organized by the the K S Public School here today, the Minister highlighted the role of the teachers and parents in shaping the personality of the children. He called upon the parents to send their wards to school for becoming good citizens.
The Minister asked the student community to work for unity and integrity of the country and also appealed the parents to come forward and support their children in this mission so that India becomes stronger.
Choudhary Lal Singh said the aim of education is not merely passing examinations but to produce emancipated personalities. He said alongside academic pursuit other activities aimed at providing excellent opportunities to the youth to exhibit and develop their creative talents besides, acquire knowledge which would help them to lead harmonious lives should be imbibed in schools.
Appreciating the efforts of Management of the School for organizing the programme, Lal Singh said such events boost the morale of the students. He said such programmes also provide a platform to the students to exhibit their hidden talent and explore their creativity and innovations side by side academics.
The students of the school presented a colorful cultural programme which was highly applauded by the gathering.
The Minister also distributed mementos among the meritorious students who brought laurels to the school during JKBOSE exams in 2016-17.
