PDP-BJP agree to speed up Agenda of Alliance implementation !

The coordination committee of ruling PDP-BJP alliance in Jammu and Kashmir has agreed to speed up implementation of common minimum programme, "Agenda of Alliance (AoA)" in the State.
The coordination committee meeting of the two alliance partners was held at the official residence of senior BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh at Jammu, the winter capital of the State.
It was the first coordination committee meeting of the two ruling parties after Mehbooba took over as the first woman chief minister of the state in April last year after death of his father and former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
The PDP was represented by senior party leaders Abdul Rehman Veeri, Sartaj Madjni, Dilawar Mir and Trilok Singh Bajwa while the BJP was represented by Jugal Kishore, Thupstan Chewangand, Shamsher Singh Manhas and Dr Narinder Singh besides the deputy chief minister.
Sources said leaders of the two parties discussed governance, implementation of AoA, developmental issues, power situation in the State and relations between the two parties.
They said the situation in Kashmir was also discussed during the meeting, which was held in cordial atmosphere.
“The participants expressed satisfaction over improvement in the ground situation in the Valley and were hopeful that peace is restored soon”.
Sources said it was decided to speed up implementation of the AoA.
“It was also decided that coordination committee meetings would be held at regular intervals to discuss the functioning of the government and differences between the two parties on key issues,” they said.
PDP vice-president Sartaj Madni told New Indian Express that it was a normal meeting and discussed issues of governance, development, power, etc.
He said implementation of AoA, which was framed by the two parties for running the coalition government in the State, was also discussed.
Asked whether Kashmir-specific issues in AoA would be taken up for implementation, Madni said, “Yes, of course. We are at it”. The two parties had framed AoA after three months of tough negotiations before the formation of the coalition government in the State in March 2015. The AoA calls for dialogue with all stakeholders, maintaining of and status quo on special status of the State, to examine the need for de-notifying ‘disturbed areas for repealing AFSPA from some areas, exploring modalities for seeking return of two power projects from NHPC, taking measures for sustenance and livelihood of the West Pakistan refugees (WPRs), working for dignified return of migrant Kashmiri Pandits to Valley and ushering new era of development in the State.
