UDHAMPUR EXCLUSIVE…Municipality premises itself filled with garbage, filth

Udhampur Municipal Council is making tall claims of cleaning the town under “Swach Bharat and Swach Udhampur” banner, but its own premises are filled with garbage, empty liquor pouches, liquor bottles etc. Call it an irony that the department which has the responsibility of cleaning the whole town is itself a poor showcase of cleanliness.
The premises at the back side of the department depict that the tall claims of the Municipal Council of making Udhamour clean are totally false. Charity begins at home, first of all clean your own premises than clean the town!
A social Activist, Vikram Singh said, “the Authorities promoting awareness campaigns for the youth against drug menace, but when I went to the office, there were liquor bottles, empty water bottles etc which clearly shows that people consume liquor in its premises. What kind of example are they setting for the common man?”
“Municipality department is the backbone of the town. But if one goes to the back side of the office, the claims of clean Udhampur stands null and void. The unlawful activities are going on and there is no check, there should be immediate action”, said an advocate of District court Udhampur. Krishan Lal, a local resident of Lambi gali said, “one can easily conclude that the alcoholics come inside the premises and enjoy their drinks inside. How can this department make Udhampur clean when its own premises are not clean?” YoungBites apprised about the matter to Santosh Kotwal, CEO Municipality and he shared his ignorance on the matter and assured that action will be taken against the defaulters.
