Govt. building of Rural Development in shambles from years

Patchy walls, broken doors and windows, parapets about to fall down, beams showing and narrating the sorrow tale of its ill maintenance, this is the condition of Rural development building Udhampur.
The Rural Building centre at Pyt: Sansoo, Block Udhampur is one of the live examples of negligence by the govt. in the maintenance of buildings which were once constructed by spending huge amounts of money. Kanals of Government land has been wasted. The building is at the verge of collapse. God forbid in any natural calamity the building will not be able to withstand even very minor earthquakes.
“The building has no boundary wall. One of the govt. vehicle which lies in the premises of the building has weeds, shrubs and so many plants grown inside it. This shows that how the govt. resources have been misused “, said Rahul an advocate of District court Udhampur.
“There is one more building which is a godown is in very dilapidated condition. Hundreds of cement bags were placed inside the godown but due to the negligence of department, all the cement bags were spoiled which shows how negligent the department is”, said Ram Lal a local of Birma. Ram Lal further added,” the place is just 2KM from the main town and falls under Municipality limits. There is no higher secondary school in the area. Our children have to go to the town for school. The govt. should transform this building into a higher secondary school so that our children get good education locally”.
Vikram, a social activist said,” Lot of govt. properties which cost in crores have been wasted. The buildings are not being used by the concerned department as they are working in some private buildings, so they have become hub for the drug menace in Udhampur. The youngsters find these buildings safe zones and use these buildings for drugs exchange”.
YoungBites talked to the ACD Om Prakash on this matter and he assured that he will send the engineers for renovation and maintenance of the building immediately.
