Govt. should check fee hikes of private schools, improve infrastructure of govt. schools

The fee structure of private schools in Jammu is rising up at the rocket speed with every new session. It is difficult for a common man to afford the fees. But neither the state govt. nor the centre govt. is paying any heed towards the fee hike.
The schools hike the fees every year. But schools should take the prior approval of govt. as well as parents. The private pre schools are also charging donations in lakhs to get their child admitted in a pre nursery school. The person who works in private company cannot afford the fee of the private schools but at the same time does not wants his child to study in govt. school due to lack of basic facilities in govt. schools.
Even after charging such hefty amounts, the school buses of private schools which have the carrying capacity of about 50 students carry more than the capacity which is very dangerous. The traffic Police should keep a check on the school buses and should penalize the defaulters.
Talking about the safety measures taken by the schools, there are zero safety measures taken by the govt. schools, which clearly means that the govt schools are running on God’s mercy, nothing concrete has been done for the safety of the students.
There are 12754 primary schools for boys and 10083 primary school for girls in Jammu. But there are no security measures. Any one can enter the schools as there is no security check at any point in the schools. Govt. has no funds to install CCTV’s in the schools. They do not have funds even for the School Entry Register.
It is the high time that the govt. should ponder on the rising fee structures of private schools. Govt. should equip the govt. schools so well that any common man does not feel hesitant in admitting their children in govt. schools.
