With the strong voices being raised by different organization and people across the Jammu irrespective of different castes strong resentment is brewing up as the state government has adopted silence and much delay in declaring a state holiday on September 23, the birth anniversary of Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh.
Notwithstanding the fact Jammu based BJP who got mandate from Jammu to be main coalition partner and claims to be the champion of Jammu’s cause, has adopted complete mum maintained on this issue, evoked strong reactions from people across Jammu region.

It is worthwhile to mention that Member of the Legislative Council and senior leader of PDP Vikramaditya Singh has also written an open letter to CM Mehbooba Mufti demanding a state holiday on September 23 as a mark of respect for Maharaja Hari Singh and has been raising this issue for a long time
