More than 25 Amarnath yatris have been killed so far. 17 people have died in bus accident in JKSRTC bus. The SRTC buses which commute yatris are least maintained, the condition of buses is pathetic. For the safe journey of yatris at least semi deluxe buses should be provided to the tourists.
JKSTRC have Deluxe buses fleet also. But theses buses are not for yatris. The yatris who come with the faith in Baba Amarnath have no other option but to commute their journey on the normal SRTC buses which are not properly maintained and checked. Not only the buses but the offices of JKSRTC are in shambles. The drivers of the buses are in the age group 55-60. The way towards Amarnath is not an easy one. The drivers that drive the buses in tough roads should be young enough to handle the situation. When there are deluxe buses for the Kashmir region, then why not Jammu?
There should be an enquiry committee that should check the reason behind the accident and take appropriate action the people whose negligence lead to such a big loss of human lives.
