Correspondent Vikas Gupta had an in depth conversation with Dr Osmani Suiada,
Superintendent in Psychiatric Diseases Hospital Jammu.
VG: Do we have OPD facility in Psychiatry disease hospital?
OS: Yes, we do have OPD facility in our hospital. We check around 60-70 patients daily.
VG: Is there any provision of providing free medicines to the patients of psychiatry?
OS: We do provide free medicines to the poor patients who cannot afford the cost of medicines.
VG: Do you provide psychological counseling to the patients?
OS: We are doing psychological counseling with the indoor patients and we are also doing behavior therapy and carrier counseling.
VG: How do you handle the children who suffer from some psychiatric problem?
OS: We first of all conduct the IQ/EQ and child counseling test.
VG: Do you conduct free workshops for the people?
OS: We have done free workshops in the past and we are giving free check ups to the patients.
VG: What kind of patients do you treat?
OS: Martial disbehaving, adolescence problems and lot many other problems are taken care of in the hospital.
