Roads in shambles, need immediate repair

The roads in Udhampur are in shambles, which is causing huge loss to the locals of the areas. It is indeed a sad state of affair that some of the roads are constantly being macadamized due to favouritism while most of them are ignored.
The dilapidated condition of the roads was putting people to a huge inconvenience.
“Starting from T morh to Jakheni you can see the macadamizing work of roads is in full swing for past one month. Some of these lanes are being continuously macadamized and repaired but some areas are under great neglect. No one cares about the Glory of the town as certain people visiting the town doesn't making a positive impact of the City residents of MH Road said the residents of Ekta Vihar Housing Colony,MH road. “For past one year we have been appealing the concerned officials to build our road but all in vain. Seems the P.W.D Department people have turned a deaf ear towards us. These people are not supposed to listen to a common man; they have a duty to obey their VIP masters. Despite our regular appeals to the authorities they do not act and we continue to suffer due to official apathy”, said one of the resident.
A delegation of the residents told Young bites that the Housing colony has the only Rotary Eye Hospital in the town but people can not reach out due to the bad condition of the roads. Only VIP residents get repairs every month where as no one cares for people like us. The concerned officials have so much money and information for repairing and maintaining the roads of VIPs. Someone remind them that there are others also who reside along this area”, said one of the locals.
The locals said that the lanes towards the end of the colony continue to remain in shambles with authorities paying no heed towards them. These roads also connect town to several villages like Tirshi,Gandaala, Gangera,sambal but the dilapidated condition of the roads has become a reason of huge inconvenience for the people of the area.
When contacted XEN Pwd Mohammad Abdullah said, “the tender is about to qualify soon and as you have brought the seriousness of the matter we will try to patch it as early as possible. Speaking on the matter to Young bites M.L.A UDHAMPUR Pawan Kumar Gupta said I have to fight hard to sanction the work of these areas as it was the area and work of Housing society but for the sake of my people I will try my best to get the job done as early as possible”.
