Police arrest Malik from Abi Guzar; lodged in PS Kothi Bagh

Police on Tuesday arrested resistance leader Muhammad Yasin Malik from Abi Guzar in Srinagar.According to his spokesperson, Malik was scheduled to take part in a programme organized by Joint Resistance Leadership at Aali Masjid in Srinagar to commemorate the 50th death anniversary of Moulana Yusuf Shah.

Malik was detained to prevent his participation in the programme.

“Malik Sahab has been lodged at Kothibagh police station,” he said.

Earlier, Hurriyat (M) Chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was also placed under house detention.
