Multi-level car parking facility for more than 1300 cars

To meet the deadline fixed for the timely completion of first state of the art parking facility at Bus Stand in Jammu, the executing agencies has put in their efforts to complete the project with full pace of work. Pertinent to mention here that the state government has asked the executing agency to complete the entire work within the stipulated time period of 24 months. The prestigious project includes the modernization / development of General Bus Stand-cum-Multi-level Car parking-cum-commercial complex at Jammu coming up at a cost of Rs. 201 crore.
“This is for the first time that such a type of most modern project has been sanctioned in Jammu and this project is very significant for the public of the state as it will provide better facility of Bus Stand besides adding multi-level car parking for more than 1300 cars to decongest the surrounding areas,” stated a senior technical officer at the construction site to the Young Bites.
“It will also provide facilities like food courts, shopping malls, open restaurants etc for locals as well as tourists. The project has been designed in such a way that it is compatible with surrounding ambience and cityscape of the historic Jammu City. The G+5 floors of the building will have all modern amenities viz., HVAC, lifts, escalators, water and waste management etc. and a dedicated power back up system,” he further added.
“Earlier, due to some objections by the local shopkeepers and traders, who objected about the construction of the project due to which the proposed project is likely to be delayed, but now when, everything has been settled down as all of them have been got their adequate compensation, while some others have been demanding rehabilitation. But we are hopeful that the entire project should be completed on time and the people of Jammu could get a state of the art parking facility in their city,” said Sham Sunder Sharma, another engineer appointed at the site of construction at Bus Stand.
