Jammu:
For prosperity and progress of people of the state, the various developmental schemes pertaining to education, roads, power supply, potable drinking water, health care, development of tourist infrastructure are foremost steps which are needed to be undertaken by State Government, whereas providing employment opportunities is also one the prime responsibility.
However, the developmental works are very far to be seen in different stages of completion. There are many countryside areas of Udhampur District where link roads, which were started many years ago, are yet incomplete. Besides that, PHE departments in those blocks never showed seriousness to provide drinking water pipe connections. Thus, people are still following the old fashioned way of supplying water from the distance of many miles.
Bubneshwar, an entrepreneur in City, said, “living away from home and family to earn money is my restraint, as there is no basic facilities in my village near Chenani Tehsil.” “ Government has constructed Asia’s longest tunnel from Chenani, but it never bother to look toward development works in nearby areas, and not having roads, power cuts for months in winter forcing me to move toward city,” said Bubneshwar Kumar, 40, a local resident of village Karla, near Patnitop.
Whether it is the mismanagement or misgovernance, which make the State Government inapt to assure the road and drinking water facility to those remote areas? Here the question rises why concerned official are not able to spend the funds in appropriate manner so that scheme will lift water from nearby spring and supply it to the remote areas of the District.
It is the prime obligation of the administration to benefit each and every citizen of the state.
Notably, it is for the State Government to review the developmental scenario in various constituency of Jammu province. Concerned official for developmental project should infuse new spirit in the peace and quality of the developmental works. Particularly engineering departments should gear up their men and machinery for timely completion of ongoing projects. Moreover, for making every urban & rural area polythene-free the general mass awareness is required with stringent punishment for the violation of the same.
Pertinently, it depends upon the government officials, who are appointed in every Blocks and Tehsils of the State, that how they listen the grievances of the people and mitigate the same at the earliest. In addition, the issues relating to road, drinking water and electricity facilities, development works and job creation in every nook and corner should be addressed by the government to build an integrated settlement in cooperation with local people for the progress and prosperity of the state.
