Manchester blast : Death toll rises to 22, attacker killed while detonating IED, say UK police

A lone male suicide attacker targeted a young audience at the Manchester Arena in the United Kingom on Tuesday morning, killing at least 22 people and injuring 59. In what the British police have called an act of terror, the attacker detonated an IED moments shortly after American pop singer Ariana Grande performed for nearly 20,000 people. While the terrorist is said to have died in the Arena, authorities are trying to determine whether he acted alone or was part of a network. The attack comes two and a half weeks ahead of the UK snap polls called by Prime Minister Theresa May ahead of Britain’s exit from the EU. No organisation has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
