Bandipora police arrest 3 for abducting, raping minor girls

Police officials in Bandipora Wednesday claimed that they have arrested three youth in connection with rape and abduction of three minor girls.

Police said that Yasir Khursheed Ganai and Ehsan Akbar Mir, both residents of Kaloosa, Bandipora were arrested after police station Bandipora received complaints from the families of two minor girls, aged 15 and 16.They said that the accused after abducting the minor girls took them to Pahalgam and raped them for two days in a solitary place. Both the girls were recovered and the accused were arrested with the help of Islamabad police today. A case vide FIR No. 68/2017 under section 363/376 RPC has been registered against the accused.

In another such incident, a person was arrested for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl in Arin village of Bandipora on the intervening night of 9 and 10 May.

After taking up the investigation, Shamroz Ahmad Malik resident of Sumlar village was arrested after he was found involved in raping the minor on the intervening night of May 9 and 10,” said an official. A case vide FIR No. 66/2017 under section 376 RPC was registered against the accused in police station Bandipora.
