Roads, bridges and lot many development works are on their way in Nowshera-Sunderbani: Surinder Chaudhary MLC PDP In the weekly segment of Talk Show, Young Bites correspondent Vikas Gupta interacted with the PDP MLC Mr Surinder Chaudhary regarding the development work in Nowshera, Sunderbani. VG: The areas of Nowshera, Sunderbani have an acute shortage of power supply? What are the strategies to restore power supply in these areas? SC: Yes, I do agree that the areas of Nowshera and Sunderbani have acute shortage and the reason is the ages old wires. There is no division of PDD in Nowshersa. There is no Transformer bank, so in case any transformer goes out of order, it is send to Rajouri for repair. The issue has been brought into the notice of Dy CM for the change of wires and for starting of PDD Division in Sunderbani. VG: Can the road connectivity between Jammu Poonch be as good as the road connectivity between Jammu Srinagar? SC: Earlier the Govt. was interested to start a National Highway between Jammu Akhnoor, but taking the account of people’s demands I changed the proposal to start a tunnel in Tanda between Choki Chora-Banihal and the other tunnel between Nowshera-Naushera so that the distance between Jammu to Poonch is reduced. We are also thinking of Rail connectivity. VG: The recent incident of border firing in which one woman was killed and one was seriously injured, what compensation is being given to the family of deceased? And what about cease fire violations? SC: As far as compensation is concerned, the govt. will give them. But the question is how to control the cease fire violations? Years back Vajpayee govt. had promised to give 5/5 marla plots to border residents, and job in Army but nothing has been done till date. VG: You are the MLC PDP, what work have you done for the people of Nowshera and Sunderbani? SC: Talking about the general public, I have distributed 70-80 transformers in this constituency, 16-17 handicap scooties have been distributed, as per ‘Indira Awas Yogna’ 150 homes have been build. Other than that there are many roads, bridges whose construction is on its way. VG: Don’t you think that Nowshera should be given the status if district instead of sub-division. SC: We are not in full majority. Whenever we will get full majority, Nowshera will get the status of district. VG: In Nowshera Hospital, Primary health centre we do not find surgeons, gynecologists, Physicians. Why? SC: Our Health Minister has provided doctors to each and every sub-district Hospital. But the doctors mostly take leaves. That’s why the patients are shifted from Nowshera to Jammu Hospitals
