As centre and state government ignore crises, lack of sincere hearing created huge trust deficit

VIJAY GUPTA Jammu, Apr 20 To strengthen themselves, in the world with de-globalization and nationalism as core ideas, nations are taking up blinkered approach, which shows the march of the world toward new world order. Brexit, which is United Kingdom's planned withdrawal from the E u r o p e a n Union, was the f o r e m o s t beckon which has rushed over other nations too. With the ascent of Donald Trump, following the 2016 referendum vote to leave, the UK government started the withd r a w a l process on 29 March 2017 and European countries like D e n m a rk , Greece, Spain, France and others observing anti-EU forces gathering vigor. Consequently, the fundamental transform in the social psychological frameworks is devolved on a new sense of danger to culture, identity, heritage, and history, which in turn is changing and generating new political ecosystems. It is noteworthy to mention here that Jammu is a microcosm of the same, though circumstances are being formed intentionally, intensifying the latent fear that already existed in the region, while premeditated overlooking of the describing situation by the authorities concerned makes it shoddier.
Of course, Jammu already has edgy structure, a winter of capital of Jammu and Kashmir, and it is cracking unremitting settling of refugee populations. In the consequences, the social engineering which leads to definite demographic changes poses a threat to the safety and cultural individuality of the locals.
As earlier reported that every day add to locals sense of losing ground, as there is increase in the influx of Bangladeshi and Rohingyas. Moreover, they illegally procured Aadhaar cards, ration cards and even fake state subject papers.
However, Jammu has always pursued a path of coexistence, and it never forced its language, ways and culture on the foreigners, refugee and non-local populations.
Bearing in mind Jammu's history of comprehensiveness, the city's mutters of concern over the sturdy seeping of foreign nationals from Bangladesh and Myanmar warrants immediate notice and that murmur is rising in upsurge. But the city of temples has reacted in unanimity to the settlement of Bangladeshis and Rohingya, from Myanmar.
Particularly, India is among the few countries where they have found a safe asylum and the single major group of Rohingyas is settled in Jammu Region of J&K.
It is noteworthy to say that it is in the concern of both locals and the 13,500 Burmese and Bangladeshi refugees living in camps in Jammu Province that a realistic workable solution is reached at the earliest.
Pertinently, the Jammu and Kashmir government says 5,743 Burmese (Rohingyas) are staying in the state since the past six years. Whereas India has nearly 40,000 Rohingya refugees, of which at least 20 per cent are presently staying in two districts of Jammu and Samba. All of them have crossed over to India illegally using a sea route via the porous Indo-Bangladesh and Indo-Myanmar border or traveling through the Bay of Bengal.
